Press Release – No Healthcare Exchanges

Traverse City – Grand Traverse County Commissioner and Candidate for Michigan State Representative Jason Gillman issued the following statement:

“The ruling on the ACA by the U.S. Supreme Court was unfortunate, and leaves us again in limbo until the November elections have come and gone.  Until that time, we will not know whether fully repealing the act will be possible.  Now the governor, Rick Snyder is calling for complete capitulation with the president. However, If health care exchange laws are enacted, the removal of them when the ACA is repealed, complicates, and may damage our health care options.”

“It makes no sense that Representative Wayne Schmidt, as indicated in a recent AFP mailer, will not publicly pledge to oppose creation of the health care exchange. It is the lack of resolve such as this which keeps our citizenry unable to predict what is the next government intrusion into their own private affairs.”

“I call upon Wayne Schmidt to stand firmly in opposition to the creation of the Obamacare exchange and to tell the governor that Michigan doesn’t want Obamacare, nor any of its mechanisms.” Gillman said
